A place to enjoy skies and views from all around the globe. Skywatch is only as good as the people who post here. It is a "not for profit, not for awards" fun place to post and link from. Simply take a picture which includes the Sky, post that picture on your blog and then come here and put your preferred name and link in the relevant places. Try to visit others on the links, those at the beginning and the end.

Skywatch Friday - New Years 2023 Edition
Hold on everybody, we are almost through all the various holidays. Now we got the big one coming up, New Year's Eve!! Party, party, party, right? You go right ahead and party if you want. I'll be home in my pajamas streaming something with my family and pets. I may not even stay up long enough to see the ball drop! At least here in Tulsa we can see it at 11 pm local time. There is a local brewery here that is sponsoring a New Year's Eve Noon celebration. That is more my speed. New Year's eve during the day I'll probably be hiking if the weather is any good at all and New Year's Day I will be helping the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition on an event on our fabulous Turkey Mountain here in Tulsa.
I wish everybody a safe New Year's Eve and a Healthy and Prosperous 2023.

Skywatch Friday - 22 December 2022 Edition
It's a busy time of year right now. Christmas is almost here and much of the USA is being hit by a "Bomb Cyclone." I hope everybody preserves time for themselves and their families and loved ones. That's what counts not running to and fro getting "stocking stuffers" and such as that. To those that celbrate Christmas, I say Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to everone else. Thank you for your participation in Skywatch Friday. I appreciate it.

Skywatch Friday - 15 December 2022 Edition
Skywatch photos have such huge variety. Some are anticipated and the photographer sets up ahead of time and waits for the perfect moments. Others like this one, you see when you get out of your car on a shopping trip and you notice the sunset and you snap off a shot or two because all of us skywatchers know that with color on sunsets and sunrises it's all about the now. You might only have seconds to take the shot before the sky turns gray. And of course when you take the shot you may end up with all sorts of "culture," overhead lines, parking lot lots, cars, businesses, buildings. Stuff like that seldom bothers me. It's part of where I live.
Part of what I love about Skywatch Friday is the huge variety of photos that participants post. Deserts, mountains, cities, villages, farms and more are presented and I love them all. I appreciate all who participate!

Skywatch Friday - 8 December 2022 Edition
This is supposedly the World's Biggest Totem Pole" in Foyil, Oklahoma just off Route 66. My son and I visited the place ten years ago this month. I loved the place; son was "heh." Oh well.
