Skywatch Friday - 2026 USA Tax Day Edition
A view of some of the tulips at the Tulsa Botanic Garden. Full confession I took it years ago. I think I was still on "A" my camera cuz looking at the settings they don't look like anything I would do now. Of course the photo looks better than my typical effort now but that's a different story. Once you get on M, you never go back to A, right? Or at least you don't admit to it.
I hope everyone has their taxes done. We turned in all our data to the accountant and so he is taking care of it. (I hope.) Our son filed his first tax return today. He was able to use one of the "free" offerrings on the IRS site. It worked out well. They will file your state taxes also, not free. I advised him to just go ahead and pay it. It's his money so I felt free to be generous with it.

Skywatch Friday - 9 April 2026 Edition
Last light of the evening in New Orleans, Louisiana some years ago. The church spire belongs to the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France. A spectacular building inside and out. I just love New Orleans. It's a great place to visit.
Note that I am not afraid of some wires in my photo. You shouldn't be either especially if making photos in urban areas.

A sunrise view in midtown Tulsa back in 2016 when I still worked. For years I'd roll out of bed at 5:15 am and either go to the gym or go run outside. Get cleaned up and go to this Panera for breakfast when it was still dark-thirty o'clock in the morning. I'm retired and I think back on my diligence as I can pick and choose my favorite daylight hours to go exercise now. Fine, except I haven't taken a sunrise photo in a long time.

Skywatch Friday - 15 January 2026 Edition
A photo from a school ski trip that my son Logan took to Breckinridge, Colorado in 2016. I'm stealing it for the SWF header this week. Son didn't go skiiing but he found lots to eat and drink while there. We loaded him up with cold weather gear and he didn't use any of it so I used for when I was still running. I think he had a good time. My wife and I were empty nesters for a week and we had a wonderful time. Of course we missed him. This is another photo that I had set to private so it is being exposed to the world for the very first time with this post.

Skywatch Friday - 8 January 2026 Edition
A photo from a late January afternoon years ago when I worked in downtown Tulsa. One afternoon the sun was shining straight down the east west streets (which are oriented quite a bit off east and west since they were squared up the railroad tracks way back when in Tulsa.) The sun was low and we had a very nice yellowish orangish light shining almost horizontally onto the buildings. Sorry for the grainy photo and the internal reflection from the window that I shot through.
I notice that I had set this photo to "private" for some reason years ago so you folks are the first to see this photo, except for myself that is. Not that it is a very good photo.
