Skywatch Friday - 30 July 2026 Edition - Back on Track Hopefully!

Orange Beach Sailboat

A sailboat on a bay at Orange Beach, Alabama some years ago. Nothing more peaceful than the sight of a sailboat on the water at sunset.

Wild week last week but we made it work. Back to normal hopefully this week. I appreciate everyone's understanding.

Skywatch Friday - 23 July 2026 - trouble with the linky

Untitled

So I have had some trouble with the internet the last couple days. At first I couldn't get blogger let me add another post. I tried all sorts of things and then went to the local library and used their computer and I couldn't get it to work there either so I was thinking it is not a me deal, it is a blogger deal. So I put the linky on my personal blog: Yogisden.us. Please go there and link.

So that happened yesterday. This morning I got up and did a few things and then tried blogger and voila, it let me add a New Post!! Obviously right, you are looking at it. So then I am all happy and was in the process of switching the inlinkz linky back to blogger from my blog and now Inlinkz won't let me log in. A few skywatchers had this problem a week or so ago and it turned out that inlinkz was fighting off somebody trying to hack into them. I'm assuming that is what is happening now.

So try the link to my personal blog (https://yogisden.us/) and in the meantime I will keep on trying to see what is up with inlinkz.

I apologize for all this.

Skywatch Friday - 16 July 2026 Edition

DSCN6235

From some years ago, a family kayak outing on the Bon Secour River. It feeds into Mobile Bay, Alabama. What I read is that way way back sailing ships used to sail up into the river to refill their water barrels as the water was known to be very pure and clean. Our family kayaked the Bon Secour many times until our outfitter went out of business.

Skywatch Friday starts up fresh every Thursday at 12:30 PM Tulsa time. The only rule enforced is that no grumpy people are allowed. (Just kidding, even grumps are welcome here.)

Skywatch Friday - 9 July 2026 Edition

Double Rainbow in the Neighborhood

From some years ago, a double rainbow in the neighborhood. We hardly ever get them so this is special.

Sorry I am late today. I thought I had a SWF Post set up and when I went to link my post, it is like nope. So here I am.

Skywatch Friday - USA 250th Anniversary Edition

Gulf of Mexico Sky

From some years ago, a photo of the sky on the Gulf of Mexico at Orange Beach, Alabama. I took this photo with a music player, the Apple Ipod Touch. Not bad for a music player in my opinion.

The United States of America will be celebrating it's 250th Anniversary on the fourth of July. I'm old enough to remember the 200th Anniversary back in 1976. Not much celebrating for me back then; I was away from home working the oilfields of west Texas as a summer engineer. Our family will probably watch some fireworks this year.

Thank you for participating in Skywatch Friday. I really look forward to seeing everyone's posts.

Skywatch Friday is open 12:30 PM on Thursdays, Oklahoma, USA time and stays open seven days until the next edition opens.

Your host is Alan Bates at YogisDen.us and his email address is yogiabb@yahoo.com
