Skywatch Friday - Christmas 2018 Edition

It is getting down to the home stretch for those of us who celebrate Christmas. Presents need to be bought, cards sent, decorations set out, you know the drill. I hope that everybody slows down a little for the season and enjoy it a little bit. Take a few photographs, a few sky pics and post them for us to admire!

Skywatch Friday - Day of the Dead Edition

Halloween is over, November 1 is coming along with colder weather, shorter days, and moody skies.



November 1 is also the Day of the Dead. A Mexican Holiday where family members gather and remember and pray for friends and family members who have died. It is becoming a bigger and bigger deal in Tulsa.

Speaking of shorter days. This weekend we switch to standard time and we'll start next week's edition of Skywatch Friday at 2:30 CST USA.

Skywatch Friday - 27 September 2018 Edition

Here in Tulsa a front blew through today and did it ever make a difference. The temperature has dropped considerably. It makes for pretty blue skies and summer is definitely over. I am not worried though, the temps are going to rise back up into the 80's so we'll keep the air-conditioners tuned up.

Skywatch Friday - First Day of Fall 2018 Edition

Welcome to Skywatch Friday. The 22nd of course is the first day of Fall in the northern hemisphere and Spring in the southern. (I always wonder how flat earthers explain that.)  Here in Oklahoma we are still running our air conditioners on high and further north, in Montana it is below freezing in the morning.

Summer is rapidly coming to a close. School is already started in many areas, vacations of those with children are over, and now the empty nesters and those without school age children are heading out to take advantage of less crowded areas. Here in Oklahoma, the temperate weather generally lasts through the middle of November. So we are headed to cooler temperatures and the many bloggers in the southern hemisphere are looking forward to their summer. I love reading their posts during the extremes of our weather. When it is sweltering here, they are cool. When it is freezing here, they are at the beach. It is hard to be a flat earther when you are a blogger is what I think.

Welcome to the first Skywatch of March this year and thank you for participating. I went walking along the Arkansas River here in Tulsa and it was like perfect March weather. The sky was cloudy, the wind was blowing, and it was sprinkling rain every now and then. Everything was very unsettled. It does seem that our climate has changed.
