Another week, another skywatch. We have had a heat dome over Oklahoma for some time. That means pretty blue skies but kind of boring. Hey I'll take boring. Thank you for participating!!
A place to enjoy skies and views from all around the globe. Skywatch is only as good as the people who post here. It is a "not for profit, not for awards" fun place to post and link from. Simply take a picture which includes the Sky, post that picture on your blog and then come here and put your preferred name and link in the relevant places. Try to visit others on the links, those at the beginning and the end.

A view of west Tulsa from a month ago when isolated rainstorms came through town.
I have to say I appreciate all who participate in Skywatch Friday. It's part of the photoblogger internet which is gentle and supportive of each other with none of the drama (except for striking photos of course) that characterize some of social media and the news and opinion sites.

This is the monarch waystation on Tulsa's Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area. I volunteered to water it this past year. So when there is no rain for several days I show up and string about three long hoses together and water it for 30 to 60 minutes depending on how hot it is, how much it has rained recently, etc. We plant only native plants so I look at my job as supplementing nature. I am just trying to keep the plants from dying. So far I have seen one monarch butterfly and a whole lot of swallowtails and loads of bees, hornets, and wasps. I've talked to lots of curious people and sprayed water on a few very hot mountain bikers who stopped. It's been fun! It goes on year round.
I'm just glad the plants haven't died. There is an event called Monarchs on the Mountain later this month. I'd feel terrible if all the plants had died!
