Skywatch Friday - 27 June 2019 Edition

DSCN9557

Many apologies for being late today. Also many people are having trouble adding their thumbnail. I emailed Brent at LinkyTools and he says that he is having a problem but is working on it:

"Here's the issue... the site has over 18K old  users with 9+ MILLION old image files. So it is really bogging the system down. I am in the process of spring cleaning the old users and files. I have no idea how long it will take (a few days) and I apologize for whatever inconvenience and aggravation it causes. I'm working hard to resolve it. Linky Tools has run very smoothly for many years... I hope to have this cleared up as fast as possible.
Brent"

So anyway the problem should be resolved soon. I appreciate your patience.

FSCN9545

This Friday, the 21st, is the Summer Solstice. The longest day of the year and the beginning of Summer in the northern hemisphere. To me it always seems like it comes a little late, summer has already begun in Oklahoma.

Thank you for participating and I hope you all enjoy the Solstice.

Skywatch Friday - 13 June 2019 Edition

Tulsa Tough 2019

The weather has calmed down quite a bit in Tulsa. The Arkansas River is still in its banks and the rains and storms we've had although frequent have not been widespread or severe. So life has been good except for the many people who are cleaning up and rebuilding after the floods.

Thank you for participating! We start every Thursday at 12:30 Tulsa time (USA Central DST) and stay open all week until the next edition. So you are never late!!

Skywatch Friday 6 June 2019

Untitled

Welcome to Skywatch Friday!! I hope you have had some good sky viewing this past week. Here in Tulsa, the rains gave us a break and with decreased inflows the Corps of Engineers were able to drastically lower the water discharge rate which made the Arkansas River level decrease by a bunch. So now the flooding is over, and the cleanup begins. I know other areas of the country have had it just as bad or worse than here. For now, I am enjoying the dry weather although we are going to have three days of rain starting tomorrow. I appreciate you participating. We start every Thursday at 12:30 PM US CDST and keep it open straight through to the next week.
